Talladega Superspeedway: The Largest and Fastest in NASCAR
Iconic Track Celebrates 50th Anniversary in 2023
Massive Property and a Legacy of Exciting Racing
Talladega Superspeedway stands as a colossal monument to auto racing, boasting an impressive 2660-mile track and a sprawling property of approximately 3000 acres. Constructed in 1969, this iconic facility has become synonymous with high-speed thrills and legendary races. The track itself is an engineering marvel, featuring a massive 48-foot-wide surface with an additional 12-foot-wide apron. Its infield encompasses a vast 247 acres, providing ample space for pit areas, grandstands, and other amenities. Talladega's sheer size makes it the longest NASCAR oval, dwarfing the famous Daytona International Speedway by over 160 miles. This expansive layout allows for speeds that routinely exceed 200 miles per hour, creating an exhilarating and often unpredictable racing experience.
Buckin' Dega and Garage Experience
In addition to its racing legacy, Talladega Superspeedway also hosts a variety of special events throughout the year. The annual Buckin' Dega Presented by RTIC Outdoors invites fans to take laps on the track for charity. The Talladega Garage Experience Presented by provides race enthusiasts with an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the superspeedway's inner workings.
