NASCAR founder Bill France Sr. orchestrated the first race at Talladega Superspeedway over 50 years ago, and the track has been a staple of the NASCAR Cup Series schedule ever since.
Geico 500 Details
This Sunday, the NASCAR Cup Series returns to Talladega for the Geico 500. The 266-mile race will take place on the famed 2.66-mile oval, and there's a chance of rain until around 2 pm.
The race is scheduled to green flag at 3:20 pm ET. Fans can watch live on Fox or listen on MRN and SiriusXM Channel 90.
Wild Pack Racing Expected
Talladega is known for its wild pack racing, and Sunday's Geico 500 is sure to be no exception. The close quarters and high speeds often lead to multi-car crashes, making Talladega one of the most unpredictable tracks on the circuit.
