Kyle Larson Wins Pole for Toyota Owners 400 at Richmond
Larson Edges Out Teammates for Top Spot
Kyle Larson has won the pole for the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series Toyota Owners 400 at Richmond Raceway in qualifying on Saturday. Larson, who turned a fast lap at 120.332 mph, will lead an all-Hendrick Motorsports front row for Sunday's race, joined by Chase Elliott who qualified second. Larson's pole win is his first of the 2024 season.
A Close Call
Larson's pole win came despite a late challenge from Elliott. Elliott, who was the fastest in the first round of qualifying, was able to close the gap to Larson in the final round, but ultimately came up just short by a margin of 0.041 seconds.
Larson's pole win is a positive sign for the Hendrick Motorsports team, which has struggled for speed in the early races of the 2024 season. Larson and Elliott will be looking to convert their strong qualifying performances into a race win on Sunday.
